Cortan the Beast

This set of figures uses some wonderful custom heads from Planetary Dog Toys. When I bought them, I didn’t even intend on pairing them together. I just thought they were two great sculptures that I wanted to paint! Once I had them in hand, however, I liked how they both had mohawk-like haircuts, so I decided to paint these heads to match and to create a pair of characters that work together.

Recipe

As mentioned, the head on this came from PlanetaryDogToys.com. The body is a Kronnaw with some modifications to the armor and parts.  I replaced the normal emblem on his belt with a buckle I cuit from a Shadow Elf Warrior.  Using that and the loin armor from the same figure allowed me to tie these two characters in together visually.  I gave him a new pauldron and also added some paint to that and I drilled a hole in his pelvis to be able to use the tail piece, which was painted to match the body.  His feet are from a Stan Winston Realm of the Claw figure. They were also repainted and they pop right into the lower legs of a Mythic Legions figure.
