Half-Giant

This figure was created because I wanted an excuse to buy the 12" Marvel Legends Thor figure. Since I do not collect the 12" scale, I needed to find a way to work this toy into my existing display. Creating a Frost Half-Giant was my solution.

Recipe

This figure's base is the 12" Thor from Marvel Legends. I repainted his entire body, turning his flesh into the blue-gray color needed for a Frost Giant and added lots of weathering to the details of his clothing and armor. For the head, I took and extra hari piece from the Thor figure, trimmed it to work as a beard, and then used sculpting compound to "fill in the blank space" and create a unified beard for this character. The helmet came from a Marvel Universe Frost Giant.

For my figure's weapons, I found a large axe on eBay that came from a 12" Red Sonya figure. I also found a few other 12" scale accessories (small axe and knife) to use as additional weapons in his belt.

For the cape, I did not want to use the red on that came with Thor, so I made a cape from some blue fabric I got at the craft store, attaching it with the chest armor pieces that the Thor cape used. I also added some fur to the back of the cape to complete the look.
