Looking at my display of Mythic Legions’ dwarves, I realized I needed a bard, which set me down the path of creating my dwarven bagpiper, Piper McHannigan! Because if a dwarf was going to be a bard and play an instrument, I think bagpipes are the obvious choice! This is actually the second version I made of this character.
You can read this character's story over on my Instagram page.
Awhile back I posted my dwarven bard, Piper McHannigan. It was a custom I created before Torgun Redfin was revealed, but as soon as I saw that Mohawk-sporting dwarf, I knew he would be a great upgrade to my dwarf piper. Fellow Mythic Legions customizer Patrick Boyle obviously felt the same way since he did a dwarven bagpiper that used Torgun as well as some tartan and bagpipes from an old Austin Powers Fat Basterd figure. I had wanted to update my piper using parts like Patrick’s recipe, but I kept putting it off, but once I saw the new “fat torso” from PlanetaryDogToys, I knew I had found the key piece to build my new piper around!
This torso works wonderfully with the Mythic parts. I ended up not using a normal piece of faulds armor, but if you do it fits so wonderfully under his belly overhang and the back of the armor sits right into his back rolls. This piece really adds a whole new look to a Mythic Legions figure!
To complete this custom, I gave him some sandled feet from a LOTR Berserker Uruk-hai and a few weapons to get my dwarf bard ready for battle! The bagpipes, waist piece, and tartan around his waist all came from the Austin Powers FB figure.
