The Mythic Legions action figure customs of Jeremy Girard

Deity

Set

This uses another great add-on set from MyActionFigureCustoms.com. As soon as I saw their recent “Egyptian” releases, I knew I wanted to use them for something cool. As much as I loved the normal “Anubis” head, I actually decided to pass on it because I already have a Gothitropolis Anubos in my display. The head that they called “Anubis Corrupted”, however, I knew I could find a use for, not as a version of Anubis, but as a whole different god from this ancient panetheon. I give you my version of the god of chaos, storms, and destruction - Set.

Recipe

The body on this is a Torrion figure with the hooved feet swapped out for some from a Gorthokk. His waist piece is from a Lord of the Rings Lord Elrond. I hit all the armor, including the new neck piece, the head, and the weapons with a black base coat and then dry brushed the armor with gold. For the head, I wanted his ears and ‘skin’ to remain black, but I wanted to bring out the skull face, so I dry brushed it white. I love the details of the sculpture that the dry brushing revealed! Such a wonderful piece!

With the armor dry brushed gold, I began to use a variety of other metallic colors to hit the many detailed parts of the neck armor. Once again, so much detail came out as I began to paint. I also added some color to the arm and leg armor to tie all the armor colors together.

For his weapons, I used a pair of swords from MyActionFigureCustoms along with a staff I made from the top of a Warcraft weapon and a Gothitropolis Raven weapon.
