This pair of figures is from a series of Yuan-Ti snakemen customs I created. I imagine these guards as supremely skilled soldiers, committed to protecting the Yuan-Ti High Priest at all costs. They wield the deadly "serpent blades" that all soliders of their clan are presented with once they become full members of their society. They also use large staffs tipped with poison-infused blades, meaning that even a single cut from one of these Guard's weapons could be fatal to their opponents.
You can read this character's story on my Instagram page.
The heads on these two customs came from some MOTU Snakemen figures. I actually got these heads in a lot of random MOTU parts over a year ago, and these "reptile men" customs have been something I have wanted to do since then.
For the bodies on these, I wanted to go with a mix of bare skin and armored parts - kind of like a gladiator. Many of the pics I found online of Yuan-ti from D&D showed them with flesh colored skin, but with scaly snake-colored heads, so I was fine with combining the two different kinds of skin/scales here. Ultimately, I used parts from Cador and Attila on these, along with some red belts from a Black Knight and some feet from some MOTU figures. The cape on the second guard is from a WWE set.
