As soon as I saw the figures from Mythic Legions 1.0, I knew that I wanted to add some of the feathered wings from the Gothitropolis Ravens wave onto one of those figures to create an Angel. While early information stated that these wings would, indeed, be compatible with Mythic Legions, in the end they were not. Refusing to be detered, I decided to find a way to make the wings work with these figures so I could create my angelic warrior custom!
I actually ended up making a number of angels for my collection, and there are muliple custom angels you can see on my page. You can also read this character's story on my Instragram page.
This figure started with the golden armor and clothed torso of a Sir Gideon Heavensbrand figure. That figure was seriously 90% of what I already needed for my Angel. The head for the custom comes from a Marvel Legends Sentry figure. Marvel Legends' heads are a little too small for Mythic Legions' bodies, but this one seemed to work really well and scale fine. I dremeled it out so that it would pop onto the larger Mythic Legions' neck post.
To attach the wings, I drilled small holes in the back of the figure's pauldron armor (this was long before the 4H announced that they would be making adapter pieces to use these wings on Mythic Legions' figures). I wanted the Angel to be able to wear both the pauldrons and the wings, so I could not attach the wings using the holes in the back of the torso where the pauldrons plug into. A very small hole in the armor itself allowed me to pop the pegs of the wings in place and they stay intact perfectly! The connection point is not strong enough for me to display the wings in a "flight pose", but that was fine for me since I intended to have my Angels with their wings folded behind them.
The Angel's weapons came from a Knight Builder Kit, simply because I wanted a different color than gold for these weapons and I liked how the coloring on these looked.
